Why A Catbird?
I am an avid birder. When I first got started with the hobby, I had a lot of trouble identifying birds that spend time in trees, where you only get quick glimpses of their color and shape among the foliage. The first bird in a tree that I was really proud of myself for identifying was a gray catbird, which I spotted while walking along a boardwalk through a cypress swamp in Florida. Getting this right was so satisfying—like solving a puzzle, and knowing that I could solve such puzzles.
When coming up with a name for my business, I thought back on that experience and how gratifying it is to identify something that is hard to see “through the weeds”. With Catbird Stats, I aim to help you identify the unseen potential within your data, which may even be hidden in plain sight, so that you, too, can feel that puzzle-solving satisfaction.
